Have any of you guys seen the movie Julie & Julia? It was only okay. (I’ve been having a huge Meryl Streep marathon recently, and I also love Amy Adams [but not really in this movie…])
My God it was inspirational. It teaches novice bloggers that they can start a blog, update it as frequently as possible, and eventually you will become a published writer.
I mean, there’s shit loads of hard work inbetween. But it had me thinking that I need to think of a real voice to have, a defined subject to blog about, something specific, super interesting and most of all, actually good.
N.B. I haven’t seen Kramer vs Kramer or Sophie’s Choice. I may have to now.

Just tried to explain the plot of Northanger Abbey to a friend.
It went something like this:
I’m not hating on Austen or anything. I understand any overarching meanings of Northanger Abbey are to parody the Gothic of Austen’s generation, but still.
I’ve been using Spotify for over a year now. I pay the subscription every month (and yes, I do think it’s worth it, and yes I do recommend it, but that’s a different matter).
I logged back onto my iTunes for the first time in an age and scrolled through my music library.
I only ever use iTunes for updates, backups, or very occasionally purchasing songs that aren’t available on Spotify.
There are some amazing songs, going back all the way to 2003. Songs I wouldn’t dream of listening to now; they’re years of my teenage life ago, so many bands and artists have filled their spots since.
Here’s a personal favourite - I used to be absolutely obsessed with this band. Literally, unadolterated obsession.
Click here for an 80s synth camp pop treat.
They go by The Modern now, but were once called Matinee Club. I personally prefer the latter.
In connection with this, I do love 80s pop music. OMD, Gary Numan, and so on.
Also, ignore the guy miming. Or, use him of an example of what I used to be.
